How Do I Delete or Correct a Score on My Handicap Index?

If you’ve posted a duplicate or incorrect score, there are two ways to fix it, depending on timing.

Option 1: Delete the Score Yourself (Same Day Only)

If you notice the mistake on the same day the score was posted, you can delete it yourself in the GHIN app on GHIN.com.

Steps:

  • After posting, click “Made a scoring mistake? Delete round” and follow the prompts
    OR
  • Go to Stats > Score History > Recent & Revision Scores
  • Find the score and click the “>” arrow
  • Select “Made a scoring mistake? Delete round” and follow the prompts

Important:

  • You can only delete scores before midnight on the day they were posted
  • GHIN updates overnight, so changes may not appear immediately

Option 2: Contact Your Handicap Chair (After Same Day or Special Cases)

If the score was posted on a previous day or cannot be edited, you’ll need to contact your club.

This includes:

  • Duplicate scores
  • Incorrect scores (wrong date, tees, or score)
  • Scores posted through Golf Genius, club admins, or other systems

What to include in your request:

  • Date of the score
  • Course name
  • Score details (if known)
  • Your name and/or GHIN number

Example:

  • “Please delete the score of 68 at Wigwam Red Course posted on 6/8/26.”
  • “I accidentally posted a duplicate score at Papago Golf Course. Please remove one.”

If you’re unsure whom to contact, visit our Club Directory and use the “Fix a Score” option to find your Handicap Chair.

After the Correction

  • GHIN updates nightly, so changes may take time to appear
  • If you don’t see the update, follow up with your club or support team

Fixing a score is quick and ensures your Handicap Index® remains accurate and reliable.
