How Do I Delete, Change, or Correct a Score on My Handicap Index in GHIN?

 If you posted a duplicate or incorrect score, how you correct it depends on when and how the score was posted. 

Option 1: Delete the Score Yourself (Same Day Only)

 If you posted the score through GHIN.com or the GHIN Mobile App, you can delete it yourself before midnight, local time, on the same day it was posted. 

To delete the score:

  1. Go to Stats > Score History > Recent & Revision Scores.
  2. Find the incorrect score and select the “>” arrow.
  3. Select “Made a scoring mistake? Delete round”.
  4. Follow the prompts to delete the score.
  5. Repost the round with the correct information, if needed.

You may also see the “Made a scoring mistake? Delete round” option immediately after posting your score.

Important:

  • You can only delete scores before midnight on the day they were posted (midnight is local time)
  • GHIN updates overnight, so your Handicap Index® may not reflect the deletion until the following day

 

Option 2: Contact Your Handicap Chair of Handicap Committee (After Same Day or Special Cases)

Contact your club's Handicap Chair or Handicap Committee if:

  • The score was posted on a previous day.
  • You accidentally posted a duplicate score.
  • The score has an incorrect date, tees, or score information.
  • The score was posted through Golf Genius, The Grint, a Club Administrator, tournament software, or another third-party platform.

When requesting a correction, provide:

  • Your name and/or GHIN number
  • Date of the round
  • Course name
  • Score and details that need to be corrected

If you’re unsure whom to contact, visit our Club Directory and use the “Fix a Score” option to find your Handicap Chair.

 

After a Score Is Corrected

GHIN processes updates nightly, so your scoring record and Handicap Index® may not reflect the correction until the following day. If the correction does not appear after the overnight update, follow up with your Handicap Chair or Handicap Committee.

Correcting a score promptly keeps your Handicap Index® accurate and fair — protecting the integrity of your game and your club's competitions.
