How often is a course rated?

USGA® requires that every course is rated at a minimum of every 10 years.

AZ Golf rates most courses on an 8 year cycle and courses may also be re-rated when there are significant changes to the course that could affect its difficulty, such as renovations or redesigns. If you believe a course is due for re-rating or suspect its rating may be outdated, contact AZ Golf directly to initiate a review.

However, after 10 years, a course rating expires and must not be used for posting scores to a handicap record. If a score has been inadvertently posted using an expired rating, contact your club administrator or AZ Golf for guidance on correcting your scoring record.
