How to Maintain Club Authorization & Complete Annual Assessment (GHIN Admin Portal Guide)
Learn how to view your club’s authorization status in the GHIN Admin Portal, understand compliance requirements, and complete the annual assessment to remain authorized with AZ GOLF and the World Handicap System.
We are happy to announce that your Club Authorization status will now be available within the GHIN Admin Portal. This feature will help you monitor and maintain compliant status throughout the year.
By providing visibility into the status of each requirement, you will be able to quickly identify and rectify any deficiencies the club might have. The club will be notified through visual indicators when a requirement has been missed, ensuring timely awareness and action.
Key indicators that are checked:
- Club has a minimum of 10 active members on the handicap roster.
- Complete the annual assessment by July 1 each year
- Complete the education training and pass the knowledge test at each revision of the Rules of Handicapping
- It is strongly recommended that your club performs a club-wide Handicap Review annually.
Beginning in 2026, clubs will be able to complete the annual assessment within the GHIN Admin Portal. In order to maintain compliance, this must be done by July 1, 2026.
To complete the assessment, the club will simply login, click on the Club Authorization tab and complete by confirming existing information and acknowledging they are following the Rules of Handicapping.
Your authorization status is checked on a quarterly basis (January 1, April 1, July 1, and October 1). Clubs missing multiple check point dates may be subject to being marked as Not Authorized.
Should you have any questions about Club Authorization, please contact the Director of Handicapping and Course Rating, Mike Mason.
Thank you for being a member club of AZ GOLF and for your support of the World Handicap System.
