When players compete from different tees, do we have to make any adjustments?

When is a Playing Handicap adjustment needed for different tees?

A Playing Handicap™ adjustment is only needed when players compete from tees with different pars. The Course Handicap™ already represents the number of strokes received to play to par, so when par is the same across all tees, no adjustment is required.

How the adjustment works

  1. Determine whether the tees in use have different pars.
  2. If par is the same, no adjustment is needed — the Course Handicap™ already accounts for strokes to par.
  3. If par differs, the player(s) competing from the higher-par tees add the difference in par to their Playing Handicap(s)™. (Rule 6.2b, Rules of Handicapping)
 
When par is different, the player(s) competing from the tees with the higher par simply add the difference in par to their Playing Handicap(s)™. (Rule 6.2b, Rules of Handicapping)
